Mrs. Maria Escamilla Rodriguez
I am Maria Escamilla and I am your school nurse this year. I am originally from Monterrey, Mexico where I obtained a bachelor's in International Relations with a minor in International Trade. I relocated to Texas to work as a bilingual teacher in Fort Worth ISD where I taught elementary school from Kindergarten to 3rd grade. After a few years, I decided to become a nurse and pursued a nursing degree at Tarrant County College (TCC). After graduating, I continued my education at University of Texas at Arlington where I obtained a bachelor's in science of Nursing (BSN). I have a clinical background in Intensive Critical Unit (ICU) and Post Care Unit (PCU).
I currently live in North Fort Worth with my husband Patrick, our daughter Abigail, and our pets - Max, Molly, and Rusty. I also love to dance; I've been dancing for 24 years, and I have taught dance classes for almost 16 years (and counting). I also enjoy baking, hiking, and spending time with my family.

BFA Studio Art, Southern Methodist University
The 2020-21 School Year is my 8th year in education, all with the FWISD.
I grew up in Fort Worth and I’m married and have three great children, a dog, and a cat!
I’ve been fortunate to always know my passion, which is Art and all things about it. Arts Education is critical to developing creative thinking and self-worth. My classroom is often filled with chatter as the students explore materials, create original works using specific processes, practice important motor skills, and more, all while setting their imaginations free.
I am privileged to work with the wonderful Students, Staff, Faculty, and Parents at Helbing!
